Zane walked into Polly’s room, and it was empty. He walked to the nurse’s station to see where she was. “Can you tell me where Pollyanna is?”

“The doctor ordered more scans of her head. She said her head hurt, and her eyes were blurry. I’m sure everything will be fine. We are just taking precautions.”

“Where is her doctor?

“He’s seeing other patients. As soon as he gets the scans, I’ll tell him you want to talk to him.”

“I want to talk to him now.”

The nurses knew when Zane Taylor wanted something, it was better to give it to him because he wouldn’t leave you alone until he got what he wanted. “Don’t tell anyone I told you this. He’s in the doctor's lounge. They are having a going-away get-together for a resident doctor who is transferring to another State.”

“Point me in the right direction. I’m going to talk to him before Pollyanna comes back.” Zane walked to the doctor’s lounge. He had to knock to get in. Then he lied. “Sorry, I’m late.”

“Who are you?”

“Doctor Taylor. Who are you?”

“I’m sorry, I have to ask everyone who comes in here. We don’t want people sneaking in for the party.”

“Of course you don’t.” Zane spotted the doctor and walked over to him. He didn’t say a word. He didn’t have to. His body language said it all. He was pissed. This man should be with Pollyanna. He shouldn’t be here drinking wine. He looked around and couldn’t believe how much alcohol was already drunken. The wine bottles were lined up on the table. Zane took his phone out and took pictures. “Who drives these people home? Does any of them have surgery today?”

“Hello, Doctor Mill’s. I would rather you be with Pollyanna instead of in here drinking. Now I don’t want you to see her at all. It’s ten in the morning, and you’re all consuming alcohol. You’re fired.” Zane shook his head. He took out his phone and called an acquaintance.

“Hello, this is Doctor Strong. How can I help you?”

“Hi Frankie, this is Zane Taylor. I need you to refer me to a great doctor in Tennessee.”

“Zane, wow, I didn’t think I would ever hear from any of you again. So tell me why you need a great doctor.”

Zane told her about Pollyanna and everything that is going on with her. “I went hunting for her doctor. He was in the doctor’s lounge getting drunk with all the other doctors.”

“I know someone who specializes in head injuries. I’ll call him now. I heard he was on vacation. I might not hear from him for a day or two. The only way to know is to call him now. If he’s available, I’ll give him your phone number.”

“Thank you, Frankie. Is there anyone you want me to say hi to?”

“Nope, no one. He’s the one who left.”

“Okay, thank you for helping me.”

“I hope Jason gets back to you. Goodbye, Zane.”

Thirty minutes later, Zane got the phone call. “This is Dr Jason Burks. Do not let anyone do surgery on her.
